Struggle with language and experience:

I have always believed that experience surpasses any kind of language. There is no language to express the tragic experiences and deepest joys in our lives. However, I believe that there is a language that could help us to heal, if we are authentically looking for it. I have always been looking for that.

Music:

The spirit of music has always been a sublime thing in my life, from my grandmother’s simple lullabies to symphonies of Beethoven, the voice of Ella Fitzgerald and to the greatest Tanzif (a classic order of music, lyric, and voice in Persian music) of our great classical musicians. Writing is a kind of music for me. I mingle with music when I write. It helps my imagination, intuition, depth of my feelings and spirit. It gives me the serenity inside me to free the words and put them on the page. Without it, I cannot write. It stimulates my mental and physical readiness to act. It frees me from any kind of emotional and intellectual apprehension or inhibition. I play music when I’m writing the image that has shaped itself in me with its unique music.
