ΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚ–Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Bring Me a Unicorn
Good time to eat candy
Lack of discipline
I shall be tempted to look down on myself
I shall be less presentable at parties where, for example,
Richard Gere might congregate with fiance
to do his blinking eye trick and play a businessman
more realistic than ever seen before
Only to find myself in a love story where I have
to compete with the aged but barrel-chested Clint Eastwood
for the charms of one very similar to Meryl Streep,
facing deep distrust from offspring
And musing about children coming of age
and being so different and separate from their parents
and moving away in a curve, only to come around
again later in life to be so surprisingly similar
Musing about the chill of a white room somewhere
in North Dakota, covered slowly by my eyes
Outside the snow that is missing here
in deep December in a city in southern Germany
