Òand so we pray: Rome, let us evolveÓ
—We [need] to amend the statutes of Today.
—The Book is profound, but letÕs [add] more to it:
the big Spirit
[still] inspires people in the 21st.
And so we pray:
—IÕve heard Sisters read scripture better than laypersons,
let our Sisters [proclaim] during the Liturgy of the Word.
—Humbled they may be, but let our Fathers and our Sisters
marry and be fruitful and multiply:
just as [He]
asked of us long ago.
—And let our priests be women (WHY NOT? Are they not equal?)
—Allow men to marry men and women to marry women:
these
ancient feeding lines will [grow] if we allow such unions.
—While we twirl our beads and say Three of This and Ten of That
open
your eyes Rome and see the [many] that leave
the Flock
because this life you ask of us is
too [boring]
to endure.
—Third century rules [shouldnÕt] apply to the minds of today.
—It took you long enough to let girls be alter servers,
didnÕt it?
—Must our parishioners give so much money to
[Rome]
and save only copper coins for their own communities?
—Must those leaders of our Faith continue to
[think]
that those in our world are either
with Us
or
against Us?
—DoesnÕt the word ÒcatholicÓ mean to be universal?
—And though we are the First Church after Him,
let
Us not dissipate because of our
[unwillingness]
to blossom and grow like those who pray to the
One
who came from a Lotus Flower.
—Allow me to exhibit this [lust] for life,
so that I can get away with the [right] vibrant behavior.
—Take away the [guilt] we bestow upon the
young minds
of hungry learners and hungry psyches.
—LetÕs allow our young to set fire to their uniforms
and stand out as they wish.
—For [He] is truly the Everlasting Man,
let us continue [His] teachings through more
understanding, compassionate words that we can relate to today.
—Because I question whether or not itÕs
[really]
an art to drown in Holy Water.
—Amen I say to you.
[Rome, hear our prayers]
