K.M. Dersley's poems, stories and articles have appeared in many magazines in print and online.  He has performed his work in London, Cambridge, Colchester, Chelmsford, Norwich, at the Wessex Festival and at 2003's Dulwich Festival where he sang and played guitar as well as reading his poems.

The working-world record includes twelve years as a Theatre Orderly at Ipswich Hospital plus stints as a postal clerk, bank clerk, lorry driver's mate, cleaner and busker. Currently employed by Suffolk County Council as a Clerical Support Assistant.

In June 2000 he launched his website The Ragged Edge (www.raggededge.btinternet.co.uk) for his own outpourings. Then he started including the work of other writers in it on ÔThe Other Side of the Ragged Edge.'

Writing in South, Martin Blyth had this to say about KMD's work:

His unique brand of stark, unvarnished verse predated the tough–nut poets of the Nineties who found such favour with judges and publishersÉ.Those endless reams of online poetry and prose still haven't made printed books obsolete. Scribbles and Squibs is a much handier way to keep and take your vital dose of Dersley. It's like a health supplement. The claims on the package have perforce to be limited, but once you've taken it for a while and the benefits are obviousÉ.

Dersley's most recent book of poems is Between the Alleyways at the World's Fair, from Feel Free Press in 2004.
