Vejea (Vee-Jay) Jennings is a Caribbean-American writer and poet born in Los Angeles.  With an MFA in Writing from the California Institute of the Arts and a BA in Human Development from the University of California San Diego, Vejea is dedicated to community empowerment through self-expression, education, activism, and entertainment.  Appearing on stage with the likes of Jesse Jackson, Quincy Troupe, Edward James Olmos, Tony Award-Winner Reg E. Gaines, Malcolm Jamal Warner, hip-hop acts: Zion I, Aceyalone, and LA Symphony, Vejea also focuses his energy on teaching writing, speaking in K-12 classes and communities throughout California.  His work has been seen across the United States at the 2002 National Slam Championships and featured on Warner Bros. Recording Artists Souljahz' album ÒThe Fault is HistoryÓ.  In addition to being featured in ASCAP's Playback Magazine, The Caribbean Writer, Entertainment Today, The Graffiti Verite 5 Documentary Series, and on RadioActive San Diego, 2005 marks the debut of his album entitled ÒSoulation: Autobiography of a BreathÓ.
