Born in Kerala, South India, Usha Kishore now lives on the Isle of Man, with her husband and two children. Usha was educated at the University of Kerala (India), Sheffield Hallam University (UK), Canterbury Christ Church University College (UK) and is currently a student of The Open University (UK).  After having taught for some time in the British Secondary Sector, Usha now lectures at the Isle of Man College.

Usha's poetry has been published in magazines and anthologies in the UK, Ireland and India. She also writes critical articles, which have appeared in international magazines.  Her poetry has won prizes in UK competitions. Some of her poems are currently online. Recently, her short story “Dowry” was shortlisted for the Asham Award (UK).
