Jan Fortune-Wood is a poet, novelist and editor who lives and works in North Wales. She has previously published five books on alternative education and parenting and is a regular columnist for the international magazine, Life Learning. Her first novel, A Good Life, appeared in September 2005 from bluechrome  – the story of Jim, whose intentions to lead a good life hide a history of chaos and abuse that is finally peeled away as the stories of the women in his life are revealed on one fateful day. Her first poetry collection, Particles of Life, is also published by bluechrome and charts and charts an intimate, but outward looking journey, bringing a fresh perspective to familiar themes. Jan works as poetry and fiction editor for Cinnamon Press and also edits their poetry journal – Coffee House Poetry. She is currently editing a major anthology of Welsh poetry in English by both famous and new voices in aid of The Meningitis Trust – The Lie of the Land will be launched at the 2006 Hay festival. Her second novel is currently been considered by a publisher and a third is in final draft. Jan is also working on a new poetry collection – Knot-work
