Unused to morning dose
of cereals with milk
of sliced cheese on wheatbread,
of bacon and eggs,

used to beehoon and fishcake
or nasi lemak
or prata, market-style,

my small stomach churns confusion
to give off inelegant gas,
my bowel wreaks havoc

and now toilet-seated
while I once would have squatted
with countryside manners
