Laurynas Katkus was born in 1972 in Vilnius. He studied Lithuanian and General literature at Vilnius and Leipzig Universities. He published two books of poetry - “Balsai, rašteliai” (Voices, Notes, 1998), and “Nardymo pamokos” (Diving lessons, 2003), also a selection of poems in English “October Holidays“(2001) and in German “Tauchstunden” (2003). The translations of his poems have been published in Latvian, Polish, Slovenian, German, US literary press. After longer stays in Berlin and Mexico City, Laurynas Katkus now again lives in Vilnius.
