The ethereal glow of happy
night was neither warm nor cold
just the right sort of welcome mid-November
denial of winter
lunar blooms cast glows
on stick trees and woodland creatures
driven
not by love, but by another
moving not too fast, not too slow
my heart hurt
not an ache, but a grievous hurt
mortality had crawled into my chest
moon kissed, the landscape rolled
there was beauty in shadows
love in silvery light on hills
passion in the way beams played
the ethereal glow of happy danced
entwined under stars
I couldn't take the magnificence
the real exquisiteness
of everything you can't be
stubbornly I closed my eyes
