The Bougainville Revolution Cycle

1990 my wife I speak to her
My brothers I tell them
Neutral bodies we should remain
To survive no atrocities of arms conflict
For ten years I warned
Crisis to last.

From 12 kilok to 3 kilok
Bougainville, Revolution Army
People they ruled

From 3 kilok to 6 kilok
Bougainville Council of Chiefs
People they ruled

I not know
Who to rule
From 6 kilok to 9 kilok
Now I know
They leaders call
Interim Authorities

I not know
Who to rule
From 9 kilok to 12 kilok
                         Now I know
They leaders call
Bougainville Transitional Government

In 1990 I warned my immediate family and brothers that I saw the crisis in Bougainville was to last a period of ten years and that in order that we survive we should remain neutral and no provocative threats should be made to any one or any group.  I informed my folks that when the clock is back to 12 oÕclock Bougainville will return to normalcy and that this is the time where I would have an influence on Bougainville Society.  Hence as of the end of this year Bougainville is to establish a reconciliation government comprising all citizens of Bougainville who would be involved in a free and democratic election to elect their leaders.  This decision was honoured by the warring parties who have signed the Cease-Fire Agreement on the 30th April 1998. This election to be supervised by the United Nations Mission and the Peace Monitoring Group.
