Every day
           I spread out and thaw
Every night
           I spread out, my body
                      On the meagre platter of the streets
                      Like brunette flesh for the johns
                      A vacuous and perverse evolution
Thousands of crossing roads

The Prides² are the Proud
The Peugeauts³ the Lions
Thy rate me
| old or young |
| fat or thin |
| loose or tight |
| guilty or innocent |
Can you violate me?
Rate me … fem-inate me!
                                           Fem-iolate me?

Sometimes …
                               I walk the Strait of Hormuz⁴
Waiting for Moslem sheiks
To whisper
With the beats of telling beads
                            : “irani … good … lady”⁵
On the tip of their tongue
Or their abdomen
(Circumcised? Line? No Line?)
Their grins unsheathing the sword of their lips
…
Then
I feel so..o abased
That even the grand burj-al-arab⁶
Or the flag of L…L..Ll…
Could not help
And I creep under the breath of my past
Creep…
… Where I do not exist…


Then…
Once again
I return to the hell⁷
The capital of the God of Iran
And ask Haj-Agha⁸
:
Where is the father of my native soil?!

Tell me!
Tell!
…
If this is the truth then…
Come what come

Again…
I kiss the thaw every day
And my homeland every night
…
I kiss whatever I am called to be…
