The Other Self
I've watched you eagerly
In the primitive silence
Of the cave,
Rejoiced in your pretensions,
Became fascinated by your cavils,
Was intimidated by your fears.
When I thought
I had enough of you,
I left you quietly
Without a farewell,
Without any promise
Of a quick return.
