Laala Kashef Alghata is a poet and novelist. Her debut, a children's novel called Friendship in Knots, made her the first Bahraini to publish a book in English, as well as the youngest to publish a book. Her latest book, Behind the Mask: A Folded Heart, is available through Amazon UK and signed copies are available directly from the author. Her poem, "I Want to Feel Van Gogh's Night", was the focus of month-long exhibit in Clemson, SC. The poem was painted onto the wall, with 26 artists providing their interpretations of the poem on 8"x8" canvases. Visitors could provide their interpretations on white cards which hung from the ceiling. She is the founder and editor of online poetry and prose magazine, Write Me a Metaphor. Her poetry is featured widely online; being a poet-in-residence at Soul to Soul, Argonaut's Boat and The Peregrine Muse.
