Margaret Saine is a poet born in Nuremberg, Germany, who has been living in the United States. After a Ph. D. from Yale she moved to Southern California, where she has been teaching Spanish and French languages and cultures while writing poetry and literary criticism. She dreams in five languages and translates poets between and into any of them. She is the former president of the PEN Club chapter in Orange County and has written many letters for writers harassed or jalied worldwide. Her books are Bodyscapes (1995); Words of Art (2005); Ungeschicktes Kind (Awkward Child, to be published), and The Five Senses: 100 Love Poems in Alphabetical Order (tbp). She is now working on a novel. |
