Politicians will sell you out in an instant
Never ever rely on them for upliftment
They pledge allegiance to a state that wants you erased
Whether you vote or not your needs are last place

A politicians first mission
Is to get elected
He or she will pledge to better conditions
but don’t trust it
cause a politician can have noble intentions
but cash rules everything
check out there elections
if you ain’t got no money then you ain’t running
best way to get money is be among money
on boards of corporations
where it’s a big incestuous family for many generations
if not then be part of the machine
like in the south Bronx where nationalistic elected Puerto Ricans sell us dreams
of better education and housing while waving the flag
meanwhile cutting deals that bring four new power plants that cause me to gag
from the pollution
first place in asthma for decades
where has been the politicians’ solution
to ease my community’s condition
how many millions of dollars exchanged hands
so that millions could be polluted
so what corrupts a politican
is money and power
whether they had noble intentions
when they first aspired
