Turning Point

There comes a time in every life,
where you have no choice,
but to look at
... yourself.

Yes, it's true that many times
we can get lost in the 'busy'
or in others.

But sooner or later,
you'll hear that haunting whisper
as you pass the mirror.
So there you stand, telling yourself,
'I'll only look for a minute.'

Perhaps, these are the moments,
God reaches to your soul, pleading in a message.
Perhaps, the same God, you've denied
when self will took the charge.
Perhaps.

Or maybe,
it's more about having the courage,
to face where you have been,
where you are,
and where you want to go.

So you ask yourself...
'What could I have made better?'
'What was I truly powerless to.'
'Where do I go from here?'

And as your mind fills with
questions and reflections,
the room begins to spin,
trying to fool you into thinking ...
You wont make it.

And you have to look away.
And slip safely back into the denial
from which you feel shields you.

I have been there.
Its a terrible place,
that settles for complacent
and stunts growth.

I have heard people say,
that to stand at a window
and watch a sunrise or sunset,
is a most awesome exhibit,
of the powers that be
though God and nature.

But why limit ourselves to just watching?
Perhaps, the turning point,
is as simple as going out into it,
walking in it, standing inside it all.
Becoming part of it.
Of all its beauty.
All its wonder.

Though small we are,
as we play our part
we are all so significant.
All we do, all we feel, is so important.

So, do brave that glance in the mirror,
but look beyond the reflection,
see the sunsets and sunrises.
For like us, each rise and set,
offers ... a Turning Point.
